Around the World Inspired Crafts

The Cool2Craft TV show theme for this week is Around the World.  We're celebrating art and craft influences from all over!

My craft project this week is a super green craft!  It starts with paper coffee cups.  I cut off the rim, wrap it with fabric scraps and embellish it with bits of wire.

Shoes of the Muse

I'm so excited about this week's Cool2Craft theme!  It's SHOES!  I live in my sneakers!  I love them and they should be a reflection of me...and now they are!
I loved messing around with Tulip Soft Matte Fabric Paint to color, shade and highlight every section of my shoes!
But, I should start from the beginning.  I've worn these shoes for almost two years.  I actually wore through the leather in a couple of spots!  Before I could think of giving them personality, I had to fix that.   I used Aleene's Platinum Bond Super Fabric Textile Adhesive  between the leather and the liner.  I wore them for a week before I detailed them and saw that the glue held fabulously, so I proceeded.
Now I've been wearing them for a month and every detail is intact.  In fact they look brand new!

Put a Bird on It!

I’m a Fred Armisen fan.  He’s a regular on Saturday Night Live and has another comedy venue, the series Portlandia, on the Independent Film Channel.  It’s a funny and odd show that completely captivates my squishy little head.

I watched an episode recently with a sketch called “Put a Bird on It”.  Then, I noticed all kinds of folks celebrating the sketch by naming bird projects “Put a Bird on It”.  Even the craft magazine Cloth Paper Scissors’s new issue is called “Put a Bird on It”!  I love it!
This week on the Cool2Craft Channel, Linda Peterson’s show Creative Life TV has a bird theme and you know what that means!  The Cool2Craft Linky Party theme for this week is BIRDS!  I simply couldn’t resist adding my own tribute to the “Put a Bird on It” sketch !

Vintage Cupcake Co. Outtakes!

Visiting with Michelle was way too much fun!  And I got a free cupcake!  Bonus!  In fairness, I did put my face in it, so Michelle was okay with giving it to me.
